Anti-Social Behaviour week - Sevenoaks Officers Tackles Anti-Social Behaviour Through Operation Nebular |
||
|
This week marks Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week and as part of Kent Police's commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB), I would like to update residents on the work taking place across Sevenoaks town to address concerns raised by the community. OP NEBULAR Following a notable increase in reports of anti-social behaviour at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, the Environmental Park and Sevenoaks Town Car Park, the local town centre Neighbourhood Task Force officer has implemented a proactive problem solving plan under the operation name Operation Nebular. The objective is simple: to reduce reported ASB incidents across identified hotspot location by 20% over a six-month period and to ensure local residents, businesses and visitors both see and feel an improvement in the area. During the previous six-month period, from 5 November 2025 to 19 May 2026, police received 27 calls relating to anti-social behaviour within these locations. This level of reporting was unusually high and highlighted the need for a response. Since then, the local officer has been working closely with partner agencies, local authorities, businesses, council representatives and other stakeholders to identify the root causes of the issues and implement measures to reduce ASB and improve community confidence. As part of Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, local officers hosted an engagement stand at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre where they spoke with members of the public about the issues affecting the area, provided crime prevention and ASB advice and encouraged people to report concerns. Officers also engaged with younger members of the community through a range of activities, including fingerprint fun, helping to build positive relationships between young people and community policing teams.
